Beach Horseback Ride from Ocho Rios

Go for a ride on scenic trails on a beautiful historic property and get a glimpse into history as you will view areas dating back to the colonial years. See Jamaica’s countryside, wetlands, mangroves and learn about the local fruits, Taino Indians – Jamaica’s first settlers, as well as the British and Spaniards. Enjoy scenic trails through the property, and riding through a river before heading to the ocean for a swim with your horse.

- Minimum age to ride is 6 yrs of age
- Weight restriction is 230 lbs. per horse

The following options are also available after your excursion:
- Enjoy some Jamaican lunch, this includes authentic spicy Jamaican Jerked Pork or Chicken along with unique side orders like Festivals and Bammy. (The cost of lunch is not included in the excursion rates)
- Visit Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Sports Bar and Grill by the Beach.
- Duty Free Shopping in town and or shopping by the Craft Market.

We did this tour from our Resort in Ocho Rios one day and it was a very pleasant experience. My daughter loves to ride and my wife and I and experienced riders as well. The driver took us to and from the location safely, made a stop for us to do some shopping and buy lunch at Scotchies as well. The guides on the trail were very good too!

Hi Dwight, we had a fantastic time at our first excursion today, the Dunn’s river falls and Green Grotto Caves. Our driver, Davian, was fantastic as well. We would love to have him as our driver again tomorrow (Blue Hole and Secret Falls) and Thursday (for the horseback ride) if that is possible!

Our last day in Jamaica was by far our favorite! The driver was prompt and courteous!! Upon arriving to the plantation, we received simple and clear instruction on how to ride a horse. My boyfriend, who has never been on a horse before, felt very comfortable. Our tour guide was excellent! Always willing to repeat himself if we could hear, slow down, or take a picture for us. Riding in the ocean was an awesome experience.
Additionally, we appreciate the ease in which Karandas Tours allowed for us to change our excursion just a couple of days before it was scheduled. They were very prompt in answering the phone and getting back to us to let us know if it was possible for a change in the type of excursion that we participated in.
ll in all, we really enjoyed ourselves that day!
